Our Tasmania Wildlife Hospital

is dedicated to providing best practice veterinary treatment and critical care for sick, injured or vulnerable Tasmanian native wildlife

Our Mission

The protection and recovery of Tasmanian Native Wildlife for future generations through;

  • Veterinary Care and Supporting Rehabilitation to Release

    Our foremost priority is to provide best-practice veterinary care for sick, injured and vulnerable native animals, working within state government guidelines.

    We are focused on ensuring that every creature that comes through our doors receives individualised assessment, treatment and veterinary care.

    We also continue to support wildlife rehabilitators and wildlife rescue groups in our region who share these same values. With the ultimate aim of working together to help see injured or sick wildlife flourish once again in their natural habitats.

  • Education and Community Engagement

    Educating the community and helping to nurture a strong sense of engagement is crucial for the long-term protection of Tasmanian wildlife.

    We believe that real change begins with deeper awareness and understanding.

    By supporting and building upon educational initiatives and community programmes in our state, we hope to help bolster the community's dedication to supporting all Tasmanian fauna. From Brush-Tailed Possums to Tasmanian Devils, from Australian Magpies to the Wedge Tailed Eagles and everything in between.

  • Research and Wildlife Disease Surveillance

    As we look ahead to the future, our vision will embrace select research initiatives that contribute to and enhance our collective body of knowledge on native Tasmanian species.

    We also hope to support and become part of existing wildlife disease surveillance networks. With an understanding that early detection and intervention are critical to help safeguard our native species' health.
